Common questions
Answers to the things people ask most
How do I connect?
Open GateVPN and press the round button in the middle of the screen. The first time you connect, iOS asks for permission to add a VPN configuration — this is a standard system prompt and it is required for any VPN app to work. Confirm it, and the tunnel opens. The timer under the button shows how long the session has been running.
A VPN icon appears in the iOS status bar whenever the connection is active.

How do I change the server country?
Tap the country field at the top of the main screen to open the server list, then pick a country. Leave it on Optimal Server if you want the app to select a location for you. Changing the country while connected reconnects the tunnel automatically.
The connection fails or drops. What should I check?
Try these in order:
- Turn the connection off and on again in the app.
- Switch to a different country from the server list.
- Check that only one VPN profile is active — open iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and make sure another VPN app is not connected at the same time.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out the network.
- Restart the device.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are managed in your Apple Account settings — not inside the app:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Select GateVPN.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com — sign in with your Apple Account, find the GateVPN purchase and choose the option that fits your case. Apple decides on refunds under its own terms.
If a charge looks wrong to you, write to us as well. We cannot issue the refund ourselves, but we can look into what happened and confirm the details for your request.

I paid but the app says I have no subscription.
Open GateVPN, go to the menu and use Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used for the purchase. If the subscription still does not appear, email us — include the date of the charge and we will check it.
What data do you have about me, and how do I delete it?
GateVPN does not require an account and does not log your browsing activity, so there is no browsing history for us to hold. If you have written to support, we have that email thread. To have it deleted, send a request from the same address and we will remove it within 30 days.
Data the app keeps on the device itself is removed when you delete the app. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

What happens to the address I enter in the leak check?
It is sent over an encrypted connection to Have I Been Pwned, the external breach-notification service the feature relies on, which reports whether the address appears in known public data breaches. We do not store the address after the check, do not add it to a mailing list and do not use it for marketing. The Privacy Policy describes this in section 3.
How do I remove the VPN profile from my device?
Deleting the app removes its VPN configuration. If an entry remains, open iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN, tap the information icon next to GateVPN and choose Delete VPN.
