Privacy Policy

This policy explains what GateVPN does and does not collect, and what happens to the little information we do handle.

Last updated: 12 August 2026

1. Who we are

GateVPN is published by INTREID TIM, TOV, a limited liability company registered in Ukraine at Bud. 5, kv. 38, vul. Shchaslyva, s. Prolisky, 08322, Ukraine. We are the data controller for the processing described here. For any privacy question, write to support@gate-vpn.online.

2. What we do not collect

GateVPN does not keep records of your online activity. Specifically, we do not collect or store:

  • the websites, services or apps you connect to through the VPN;
  • your DNS queries;
  • the contents of your traffic;
  • a history of your connection sessions tied to your identity, or logs of your originating IP address;
  • your name, postal address, phone number or payment card details.

The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. It does not build an advertising profile, does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and does not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA). GateVPN requires no registration and no account.

3. What is processed, and why

Operating a VPN connection. To route your traffic, our servers necessarily handle network data in transit — including the IP address your device connects from. This happens in memory for the duration of the connection and is not written to a persistent activity log. The legal basis is performance of our agreement with you.

Purchases and subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us. We never see your card details. Apple confirms to the app whether a valid subscription exists; we may receive aggregated, non-identifying sales and subscription reports from Apple. The legal basis is performance of our agreement with you.

Support correspondence. If you email us, we hold your email address and whatever you write, for as long as needed to resolve the matter and to keep a record of it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering user requests.

Email leak check. This feature is powered by Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), an external breach-notification service operated by Superlative Enterprises Pty Ltd (Australia). When you use it, the address you enter is sent over an encrypted connection to the HIBP API, which returns whether that address appears in known public data breaches. We do not store the address after the check, do not add it to any mailing list and do not use it for marketing. HIBP processes the query under its own privacy terms, published at haveibeenpwned.com/Privacy. The legal basis is your request to perform the check.

On-device data. Your settings — the selected country, which protection options are on — are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them.

4. Who else is involved

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Data reaches third parties only in these cases: Apple, which processes your purchase and provides the App Store; Have I Been Pwned, which receives an email address only when you choose to run a leak check; the infrastructure providers that host our servers, acting on our instructions; and public authorities, where a valid and legally binding request under Ukrainian law requires it. We cannot hand over activity logs we do not keep.

5. Where data is processed

Our company is in Ukraine and our VPN servers are located in several countries, so network data is processed in the country of the server you select. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area, we rely on the appropriate safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR.

6. How long we keep things

Network data handled during a connection is not retained after the session ends. Support correspondence is kept for up to 24 months, or longer if needed to resolve a dispute or to meet a legal obligation. Aggregated sales reports from Apple are kept for the periods required by accounting and tax rules.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw a consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email support@gate-vpn.online from the address you used to contact us. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

8. Children

GateVPN is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, or under the higher age set by local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it for their work. No system can be guaranteed absolutely secure, but keeping almost no data about you is itself the strongest protection we can offer.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will say so in the app.
